Agriculture Food Supply chain. Food waste is a worldwide issue. Food worth billions of euros is thrown away each year by the world's developed economies, food waste has a devasting effect on the climate (European commissions). The food chain is being reformed by cloud-based and smart supply chains to assist with reducing waste, improve food safety, and reduce the possibility of a global food disaster. Many research projects are being conducted to reduce food waste. To maintain sustainability, the present situation requires the supply chains to communicate the actions they are taking or plan to take, Food safety, security, control, and perishability can all be solved easily by using data collected from each induvial process and sharing the data with the supply chain. One of the leading causes of the world's current sustainability challenges may be linked to a lack of ability to properly introduce new technologies. Provided the wastage of food and the value of food standards in farm products, a good software plan is necessary at each and every step of the food chain all through production and manufacturing to prevent wastage and maintain a good final product (Zainul Abideen A, et al 2021) The Internet of Things (IoT) is one of the technologies being used in agriculture. What this offers within the farming process is a wide data collection plant and crop tracking and the analysis of the growth, which then allows the evaluation of how much guidance to watering both the soil and crops by monitoring the farmland. The Internet of Things has not only aided in the analysis of potential farmland damage but has also improved farmer performance and productivity to increase agricultural production. This could aid in the identification of "field variables such as soil quality and plant biomass." It could also check and closely monitor aspects such as "temperature, soil moisture, and crop disease." Growers can then use the information gathered to determine which crops are better suited to which conditions and adjust crop rotation accordingly. (Awan S, et al 2021). Internet of Things applications in agriculture is systems that assist farmers with crop "planting, water management, crop preparation, harvesting and post-harvest handling, crop handling, and delivery," as well as many other benefits that come with having Internet of Things sensor systems throughout the farmland. Soil moisture, humidity and leaf moisture, radiation from the sun, and rainfall prediction sensors are all used in agricultural settings as ground detectors. These systems can be installed in a variety of locations throughout the farm, including greenhouses, cold rooms, machinery, seed banks, and transportation, among others. What these systems do is collect all the data that farmers need to monitor and control to ensure that their crops and growth are successful (Awan S, et al 2021). The food supply chain is the process by which food from an agricultural environment (farming) ends up in our major retailers and in our households. Manufacturing, distribution, attempting to sell, usage, and waste are all components of the supply chain. This is where trust and communication between interested parties within the industry are critical. With the statements made in the previous section, the Internet of Things can be used as an early intervention to food waste all through the food chain supply, trying to prevent crops from being contaminated or poorly grown. This will assist in detecting problems in growing crops and livestock from the beginning, but with the right data, farmers will indeed be capable of adjusting to almost any problems that may arise, resulting in food waste, from the start.
